From July 7 to July 11, 79 additional cases of three Omicron subvariants were found in the nation: 60 BA.5, 17 BA.2.12.1, and 2 BA.4.

The Western Visayas accounted for 58 of the total BA.5 cases, with one case each from the Davao Region and Soccsksargen.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated on Tuesday, “Isang indibidwal ay unvaccinated habang ang vaccination status ng natitirang 59 ay inaalam pa (One individual is unvaccinated while the vaccination status of the remaining 59 is still being verified.)

The Department of Health is still investigating each sick person’s travel and exposure history.

One instance had minor symptoms, and tests are being done on the symptoms of the other 59 cases.

43 of the cases are currently marked as recovered, 14 are still being isolated, and the results of the remaining three cases are still being confirmed.

There have been 293 cases of BA.5 found in our nation overall, according to our most recent sequencing run, Vergeire said.

Six instances from Western Visayas, ten from the Davao Region, and one from a returning abroad Filipino were among the additional BA.2.12.1 cases.

The DOH is still checking their travel histories, exposures, and vaccination records.

One experienced severe symptoms, two had mild symptoms, and one had no symptoms.

The remaining 13’s indications and symptoms are still being confirmed.

Out of the seventeen patients, fifteen have been labeled as recovered, while two are still in isolation.

One case from Western Visayas and one from Socksargen were among the additional BA.4 cases.

We still don’t know much about their exposure and travel histories.

While the other case has been proven to be unvaccinated, one is completely vaccinated.

Additionally, both cases had little symptoms and have been declared recovered.

There have been 12 BA.4 cases and a total of 87 BA.2.12.1 cases reported in the nation to date.
