Office of Civil Defense Twitter account hacked

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) is working to reclaim its Civil Defense PH Twitter account, which was hacked over the weekend.

Its Twitter account is still down as of Monday morning.

The OCD said in a Facebook post on Sunday that an initial investigation is underway into the hacking of its account last Saturday when unusual tweets about topics unrelated to the Philippines’ disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) began to appear.

“Our information technology specialists are already hard at work to get our account back up and running as soon as possible,” the post stated.

It reassured the public that DRRM-related services and information dissemination campaigns aimed at promoting public safety and disaster preparedness would continue.
