Filipinos are becoming more receptive to LGBTQ issues: Marcos

MANILA, Philippines โ€“ According to presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Filipinos are becoming more accepting of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning) issues.

He stated that it is “not divisive,” despite the fact that the Philippines is a religious country.

“I believe we are much more receptive to it, given that we are a predominantly Roman Catholic country,” Marcos said during Saturday night’s “Deep Probe: The SMNI Presidential Candidate Interview” on Sonshine Media Network International.

Members of the LGBTQ community, Marcos stated, do not bother to request special treatment; they simply ask that you refrain from discriminating against them.

“We must guard against all forms of discrimination because they are corrosive. It accomplishes nothing. That, I believe, is the proper approach to LGBTQ issues. “Confront discrimination at every step,” he added.

Marcos stated that every sector of society possesses talents that the government should capitalize on.

“No one can be excluded,” Marcos stated.

Marcos stated that Pope Francis has stated that he has no authority to judge gay people, particularly those seeking God.

“I believe the Pope expressed it perfectly. Who am I to pass judgment? That is the attitude we should all have. With that, I believe we will descend to the correct location and follow the correct path,” he added.
