Remote Bataan schools can now access e-learning thanks to DOST.
To make multimedia learning more accessible, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) 3 (Central Luzon) has introduced e-learning technology to outlying public schools in Bataan.
In the municipalities of Orani, Orion, Hermosa, Dinalupihan, Mariveles, Bagac, and Pilar, nine schools received 25 sets of personalised interactive multimedia learning tablets, often known as e-tablets.
The electronic gadget has interactive courses pre-installed in a variety of areas, including Science, Math, and English, and it can be utilized even without an Internet connection.
Each school received a Smart TV unit and a microserver set-top box with thousands of lessons and activities that were in line with the K12 curriculum provided by the Department of Education.
In the meantime, Bangkal Elementary School in Abucay, Balut Elementary School in Pilar, and Palili Integrated School in Samal were three more schools in Bataan that received both TV-based and tablet-based e-learning technologies.
The DOST-3’s Regional Grants-in-Aid (GIA) program and the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program’s enhanced implementation allowed for the distribution of the e-learning equipment.
Julius Caesar Sicat, the director of DOST-3, stated on Friday that the electronic device is best suited in places with little or no Internet access.
Sicat said that teachers from the receiving schools received the appropriate training and orientation on using the devices for classroom instruction in order to guarantee that the students benefitted as much as possible from the e-learning technology.
