DepEd issues a warning against fraudulent and unlawful solicitation
On Thursday, the Authority of the Undersecretary for Finance at the Department of Education (DepEd) issued a public advisory warning against people or organizations misrepresenting their office in order to seek business.
DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla stated in an alert that her office has not given permission for any person or organization to solicit donations.
Please be aware that the Department of Education (DepEd) and its Executive Committee have not given any individual or organization permission to solicit funds for any reason, the spokesperson stated.
Sevilla stated that DepEd stakeholders need to be vigilant in catching these people.
The statement read, “The Office of the Undersecretary for Finance alerts the public, particularly the internal and external stakeholders of the Finance Strand, regarding individuals or entities communicating with them to illegally solicit money, request contributions, or ask for donations using the name of said office and the undersigned.”
“All involved are hereby cautioned not to interact with unscrupulous person/s or entities using the name of the Office of the Undersecretary for Finance, any DepEd Executive Committee or official, or any DepEd office,” she continued.
Concerned citizens were also advised by the DepEd Finance Office to send their reports to the DepEd Public Assistance and Action Center or directly to the Office of the Undersecretary for Finance via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or landline numbers (02)8636-1663 and (02)8633-3942, respectively.
