A 16% decrease in the daily average of new Covid-19 infections
The number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reported daily across the nation reduced by 16% between Jan. 30 and Feb. 5, according to a Department of Health (DOH) report released on Monday.
The DOH indicated in its most recent case bulletin that from 172 infections from January 23 to 29, there were 145 infections per day in the previous week.
85 verified deaths and 1,012 additional cases were also recorded by the DOH.
About 11 of the increased deaths took place between January 23 and February 5, 2023.
More than 4.07 million coronavirus cases and more than 65,851 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.
The number of severe and critical infections decreased from 456 to 388 during the same week due to no new cases being reported.
Only 288 of the 2,030 beds in the intensive care unit (ICU) are being used, or 14.2 percent; meanwhile, 3,449 of the 17,627 non-ICU beds are being used, or 19.6 percent.
As of Jan. 22, 73,846,307 people, or 94.55 percent of the country’s target population (78,100,578), have received the Covid-19 vaccination, including 79.47 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.
Out of the population who has received all of their vaccinations, a total of 21,390,548 people have received booster doses.
