In the hopes that the project would be finished “within the target time frame,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. oversaw the opening of the first stretch of the PHP23.2 billion North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Connector from Caloocan to Espana on Monday.

In order to finish the road project quickly, Marcos urged the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and NLEX Corporation to collaborate “closely and effectively.”

“Try very hard to keep inside the allotted time range, as we all do. Despite the fact that your success rate in this area is excellent, avoid unneeded delays and complete the project on time so that the Filipino people can start enjoying the benefits as soon as feasible.

According to Marcos, the NLEX Connector will soon offer a different route that will shorten motorists’ commute times and dramatically increase the mobility of people, products, and services.

According to him, the start of this project also demonstrates how his administration is continuing and accelerating the momentum for infrastructure development created by the previous administration.

According to him, “under the Build, Better, More program, we will continue to push for the connectivity of major roads and expressways as well as build even more roads and bridges in key locations throughout the archipelago.”

Marcos extended appreciation to the corporate sector and concerned government organizations for making the road project feasible.

“We appreciate NLEX Corporation and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation finishing this project’s portion. We must undoubtedly acknowledge your ongoing efforts to strengthen the infrastructure systems in our nation. said, Marcos.

“I would also like to recognize the efforts of our officials and staff at the Department of Transportation, the Department of Public Works and Highways, and all of its affiliated agencies, who have contributed greatly to the accomplishment of this project. Let’s continue our fantastic work, he said.

Additionally, he stated that his administration will keep building a “highly interconnected road network” to support the nation’s quick, inclusive, and long-term economic growth.

NLEX President and General Manager J. Luigi Bautista gave Marcos a presentation on the NLEX Connector project during the ceremony.

The President was accompanied at the inaugural drive-through by DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Chairperson Manuel V. Pangilinan of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).

With the Caloocan Interchange Connector Road in Balintawak, Caloocan City, and the Espana Interchange Connector Road in Manila, the most recent NLEX Connector will run via the cities of Caloocan and Manila.

The road project will be an essential component of the Philippine High Standard Highway Network’s Luzon Spine Expressway Network.

Once finished, the eight-kilometer, four-lane, all-elevated toll highway connector project will assist 35,000 drivers per day by cutting the travel time between SLEX-Alabang and NLEX-Balintawak from two hours to 20 minutes.

segment 2 of the NLEX Connector is expected to be finished by June 2023 and is currently 42 percent complete as of March 23. This is assuming that the contractor receives the right-of-way for the segment by the end of March.
