Villagers in this city’s outlying districts will soon have simple access to improved services that will be offered by the Super Health Center (SHC) that will soon be built in Barangay Guinobatan.

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go claimed in a social media post on Monday night that “The Super Health Center is a medium version of a polyclinic and an improved version of the rural health unit.”

In the afternoon of the same day, Go led representatives of the local government in the groundbreaking ceremonies for the SHC here.

Providing consultation and treatment services such as childbirth, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory, x-ray, and ultrasound), pharmacy, and ambulatory surgery, he said the institution intends to serve remote areas.

There will also be oncology, physical therapy, and rehabilitation services in addition to medical services for the eyes, ears, nose, and throat (EENT).

Strategic locations for SHCs are chosen around the nation by the Department of Health (DOH), which is the principal implementing agency for the SHC. It constructs the facilities and then hands them off to the local government body for day-to-day management.

The DOH anticipates the establishment of more than 300 SHCs nationwide.

The Malasakit Center at the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH), the 83rd hospital in the nation and the first in the province when it opens to the public on September 18, 2020, was another facility Go visited while he was in this province.

He also used his monies given to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to provide financial help to 300 patients who were admitted to the OMPH through the Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

On the other side, the senator gave shopping bags and vitamins to OMPH staff members.

The Malasakit Centers Act of 2019 was mostly written and sponsored by Go.

The governor of Oriental Mindoro, Humerlito Dolor, said on Tuesday that three additional SHCs would be built in the province, specifically in the municipalities of Bansud, Mansalay, and Bulalacao.
