The Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed on Friday that the examination of the 953 active police officers was already completed by the five-person advisory panel assigned to review their files and records.

On April 20, the committee convened for the final time, according to Col. Redrico Maranan, acting PNP public information chief.

All of these officers, he continued, had submitted individual letters of resignation in favor of the extensive internal purging effort launched by the leadership of the PNP and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

He said, “The advisory committee met yesterday, April 20, for the eighth time since it was established to assess the eligibility of all senior personnel to remain in service with the PNP.

Maranan stated that the advisory group’s report, which includes findings and suggestions, has already been completed.

“The final report of the five-member body will be formally endorsed to Napolcom (National Police Commission) chairman and DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. for final review and subsequent presentation to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for approval,” he continued.

PNP commander Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. also thanked his colleagues and support staff for helping the review and screening of all 953 third-level police commissioned officers to a successful conclusion.
