In order to help overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) move past their recent experiences in Sudan, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is prepared to provide assistance.

They are ready to help the returning Filipinos recover from the trauma caused by the armed war, according to Bishop Ruperto Santos, vice chairperson of the CBCP – Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People (ECMI).

“Our Church offers our assistance and cooperation for their needs. In an interview, he stated, “Our doors are always open to support and offer our resources to our Filipinos.

“There are programs and plans in the dioceses to give hope, heal, and help our Filipinos that have been repatriated,” the Bataan priest continued.

Santos also stated that prayers are still given for the well-being of the OFWs in the African country.

We constantly pray and offer Holy Masses for their security, fortitude, and good health, he continued, through the chaplains.

In light of the ongoing fighting between rival factions, the Department of Foreign Affairs has indicated that at least 156 Filipinos are prepared to be deported from the affected nation.

The approximately 700 Filipinos who have requested government assistance include the soon-to-be-returned citizens.
