As of May 13, 25.4 percent of those in the National Capital Region (NCR) have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Dr. Guido David, a fellow of the OCTA Research Group, tweeted on Sunday night that the statistic represented a marginal improvement over the region’s positive rate of 22.7% from May 1 to May 6.
High positivity rates were observed in Bataan (20,2%), Batangas (33,7%), Benguet (20,3%), Bulacan (25,2%), Camarines Sur (46,5%), Cavite (36,9%), Isabela (36,6%), Laguna (29,9%), Oriental Mindoro (29.5%), Pampanga (24,8%), Quezon (42,7%), and Rizal (44,4%), according to him.
Except for Aklan (56.7%) and Leyte (21%), the positive rates throughout the Visayas and Mindanao areas were low.
The Department of Health has advised the general population to concentrate on protective measures against Covid-19, such as using face masks, getting vaccinated, and receiving booster doses when instances increase.
