The provincial administration here on Saturday urged all unvaccinated people to take advantage of free vaccinations, noting that the province was still falling short of the Department of Health’s revised objective (DOH).

“Once again, we ask for everyone’s help in keeping our promise to safeguard ourselves and our loved ones from the dangers of Covid-19. Thank you very much, and please continue to look after all of us,” Gov. Albert Garcia wrote on Facebook.

According to the most recent DOH memorandum, Bataan’s new national vaccine deployment and immunization program against Covid-19 aim for 2022 will be to vaccinate 100 percent of the province’s population.

The population of Bataan is estimated to be 862,233 in 2022, including those aged 11 and under, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

“Based on the most recent data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), it appears that only 59 percent of people in the province are fully vaccinated, while 66 percent are partially vaccinated,” the governor added.

According to the PHO data, 568,933 people (66 percent) have gotten the first dosage and 507,863 people (59 percent) have been fully vaccinated. There were 58,659 people who received the booster shot.

According to the most recent vaccination data, Abucay has 31% fully vaccinated, Bagac has 59%, Balanga City has 64%, Dinalupihan has 43%, Hermosa has 48%, Limay has 47%, Mariveles has 58%, Morong has 56%, Orani has 35%, Orion has 40%, Pilar has 29%, and Samal has 29% fully vaccinated (46 percent).

“We will continue to strengthen our immunization program in all 30 inoculation sites in 11 towns and one city throughout the province, as well as our vax on wheels,” Garcia said.

On January 13, Bataan received 310 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 1, 937.

Since the pandemic began, the province has documented a total of 31, 536 confirmed cases, with 28,372 recoveries and 1,227 fatalities.
