Volunteers are needed to help with a three-day vaccination drive organized by the DILG.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) called on volunteers on Wednesday to support and assist all local government units (LGUs) during the massive National Covid-19 Vaccination Days (NVD) dubbed “Bayanihan Bakunahan” from November 29 to December 1, with the goal of inoculating 15 million Filipinos in three days across 16 regions outside Metro Manila.

“This is the country’s largest vaccination campaign to date, and we need a lot of volunteers, especially those with medical backgrounds, to help out at the more than 12,000 vaccination sites across the country.” “As a result, we urge everyone to become heroes not only by getting vaccinated but also by volunteering their time during the three-day vaccination drive,” DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Ao said in a statement on Wednesday.

State and private colleges and universities, particularly those offering medical and nursing programs, should mobilize doctors, nurses, and nursing students to assist LGUs during the NVD, according to Ao.

The local governments are enlisting the help of barangay officials and institutions to bring people to the more than 12,000 proposed vaccination sites.

Medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, midwives, first responders, paramedics, other health professionals, teachers, and professors are among the volunteers needed for the NVD vaccination teams. Health screeners, vaccinators, post-vaccination monitors, and health educators will be assigned to them. Around 100,000 health professionals are expected to be required.

On the other hand, data professionals, teachers, and school personnel, accountants, students, government employees, Sangguniang Kabataan, or any willing and trained data personnel and volunteers are needed for the NVD Management Team. Encoders, talliers, and data consolidators will be their jobs.

“Bukod sa ating mga LGUs, napakalaki po ng part ng bawat mamamayan sa paparating na Bayanihan Bakunahan,” says the official. Inaanyayahan po namin ang lahat na makiisa at mag-volunteer (Apart from our LGUs, everyone’s role in the upcoming Bayanihan Bakunahan is crucial.) This is why we strongly encourage everyone to volunteer and join). Let us embody the bayanihan spirit and defeat the pandemic,” Ao said.

“Mag-volunteer sa inyong LGU para sa anumang suporta na maaaring maibigay,” says the volunteer. Hikayatin at tulungan magpabakuna ang mga kapamilya at kaibigan para sa ating pagsalubong sa ligtas na bagong normal lalo na ngayong magpa-Pasko at sa nalalapit na pagpasok ng bagong taon Let us encourage our families and friends to get vaccinated and embrace the new normal, especially as the holidays and New Year approach),” he said.

LGUs should rally support for the NVD and encourage more volunteers, according to the DILG chief.

Volunteers can also register at https://vaccineph.retool.com/embedded/public/a27bbe57-4f05-4a3a-a5af-5dc6a19d31b9 or through the National Volunteer Registration portal.

LGUs must also ensure that the enlistment of volunteers through the National Vaccination Volunteer Registration (NVVR) is properly managed by appointing a point person to coordinate and communicate with volunteers, as well as a data manager to download the list of volunteers with their contact information from the Vaccination Operations Reporting System (VORS).

Ao also urged LGUs to expand the number of vaccination sites to include schools, malls, cinemas, restaurants, and other public places in a memorandum circular.

He also stated that LGUs should ensure that all vaccines needed for the NVD are available and properly distributed to vaccination sites.

The DILG Secretary also echoed President Rodrigo Duterte’s call for residents to be enticed to get their Covid-19 shots by offering incentives such as free meals, rice, or cash assistance.

“All governors and mayors are authorized, gumastos na lang kayo ng pera… Pakainin’nyo na lang (Spend money… Simply feed them). Just give me the bill, and if I have the money, I’ll try to pay it,” President Duterte said in his weekly address to the people.

tranquility and safety

Meanwhile, DILG spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan E. Malaya said that local governments should collaborate with the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to ensure that the NVD runs smoothly.

“Personnel from the PNP, BFP, and BJMP are enjoined to coordinate with their LGU counterparts as soon as possible to ensure proper assignment during the NVD,” Malaya said.

He stated that the PNP, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, will develop a vaccine distribution security plan and ensure that vaccines and ancillary supplies are distributed safely at all levels.

Malaya stated that the DILG will evaluate the LGUs’ performance after the three-day Bayanihan Bakunahan.

“Inatasan po ni Secrerary Ao ang lahat ng DILG Regional Directors na i-monitor ang pagsasagawa ng NVD sa kani-kanilang rehiyon at magsumite ng report sa Emergency Operations Center (EOC) ng Kagawaran sa (Secretary Ao has instructed all DILG regional directors to monitor the NVD

The DILG will assess and evaluate the reports from December 2 to 31, and will recognize and commend LGUs that have met their daily NVD targets. The DILG will also provide the LGU with feedback and a report.
