The PNP has reshuffled 16 generals ahead of the May 9 elections.

In the latest reshuffle in the Philippine National Police (PNP), which took effect on Thursday, another 16 top officials were added.

Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, chief of the Philippine National Police’s Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), was named the new director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) by PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos in an order dated Jan. 31. Brig. Gen Antonio Yarra was replaced by Brig. Gen Remus Medina, chief of the Philippine National Police’s Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG).

Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz, who is now the deputy director of the Area Police Command (APC) in the Visayas, was replaced as the new chief of the Police Regional Office 4A (Calabarzon).

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, director of the Philippine National Police Training Service, will now lead PRO 8 (Eastern Visayas), replacing Brig. Gen. Rommel Cabagnot, who was posted to the Office of the Chief PNP (OCPNP).

Maj. Gen. Herminio Tadeo was transferred from APC Visayas to the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM); Maj. Gen. Bartolome Bustamante was transferred from the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) to the Directorate for Plans (DPL); Maj. Gen. Walter Castillejos was transferred from DPL to DPCR; Maj. Gen. Domingo Cabillan was transferred from Northern Luzon APC to OCPNP; Maj (BAR).

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale will be transferred from PRO BAR to Western Mindanao APC; Brig. Gen. Alessandro Abella will be transferred from Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) to Northern Luzon APC; Brig. Gen. According to Carlos, at least 38 police commanders in the National Capital Region and other regions of the country have been relocated to different positions as part of the PNP’s continued efforts to distance itself from local political politics.

Provincial directors, city directors, and police chiefs were among those relocated on January 8, according to him.
