There have been 10,000 new Covid-19 recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases down to 151,000.
On Friday, the Philippines reported 10,474 additional recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), increasing the overall number of recoveries to 3,388,399, or 94.3 percent of the country’s confirmed cases.
The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 8,564 new cases in its Covid-19 bulletin at 4 p.m., a little increase from Thursday’s 8,702.
Since the commencement of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 151,389 active infections out of a total of 3,594,002 illnesses.
Mild symptoms account for 139,940 of the active cases, with asymptomatic patients accounting for 6,522, moderately symptomatic patients accounting for 3,107, severe symptomatic patients accounting for 1,500, and those in critical condition accounting for 320.
There were 46 new deaths reported today, down from 71 on Thursday, bringing the total number of Covid-19 fatalities in the country to 54,214, or 1.51% of all confirmed cases.
According to the most recent testing data, 37,932 Covid-19 tests were given on Wednesday, with a 24.3 percent positivity rate.
Intensive care units (ICUs) have 3,800 beds with a 44 percent occupancy rate, isolation beds have 20,800 beds with a 42 percent occupancy rate, ward beds have 15,600 beds with a 42 percent occupancy rate, and 22 percent of 3,100 ventilators are currently in use.
There are 1,300 ICU beds with a 38 percent occupancy rate, 4,700 isolation beds with a 32 percent occupancy rate, 4,300 ward beds with a 35 percent occupancy rate, and 21 percent of 1,000 ventilators in use in the National Capital Region alone.
