PH Covid-19 patients recover in 97.8% of instances; active cases are decreased to 13.8K.

After 1,047 fresh recoveries on Sunday, the overall number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the country has risen to 2,771,536.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported in its most recent case bulletin that recoveries account for 97.8% of the total case count of 2,834,775 since the epidemic began last year.

Meanwhile, 603 new infections were reported, bringing the total number of current cases to 13,853 across the country.

There are 5,532 mild cases, 1,270 asymptomatic patients, 738 critical cases, 2,410 severe cases, and 3,903 moderate cases among active cases.

With 156 more deaths, the total number of fatalities has reached 49,386.

“Only 12 of the 156 reported fatalities happened in December 2021, whereas 36 occurred in November 2021 due to late encoding of death information to COVID-KAYA,” according to the DOH.

To ensure that information is current, the issue is being coordinated with the epidemiology and surveillance teams.

COVID-KAYA is a digital tool that health care practitioners use to collect and share information regarding Covid-19 patients.

According to data released by the Department of Health on December 3, around 1.8 percent of the 35,950 people who were tested for Covid-19 confirmed positive.

“As they are recoveries, about six duplicates were removed from the total case count. In addition, 116 instances tested negative and were excluded from the total case count since they were recoveries “It was stated. “In addition, after final validation, 115 cases that had previously been categorized as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.”

On December 3, two laboratories were unavailable, while four others were unable to transmit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on statistics from the previous 14 days, the six laboratories provide 0.9 percent of samples analyzed and 1.3 percent of positive persons, according to the DOH.

Patients with Covid-19 have used 26 percent of 3,600 ICU beds, 25 percent of 19,400 isolation beds, 14 percent of 12,900 ward beds, and 14 percent of 3,100 ventilators nationwide to date.

Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region, 28 percent of 1,300 ICU beds, 22 percent of 4,500 isolation beds, 20 percent of 4,000 ward beds, and 17 percent of 1,100 ventilators are dedicated to patients with Covid-19.
