356 new Covid-19 cases are reported by PH, the lowest number in 17 months.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 356 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, the lowest number of cases in a single day in 17 months.

The DOH reported in its most recent case bulletin that the figure brought the overall number of cases to 2,835,345.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases fell to 13,026 as the Department of Health recorded 871 new recoveries. There are now 2,772,278 recoveries across the country.

There are about 5,314 mild cases, 899 asymptomatic patients, 587 critical cases, 2,326 severe cases, and 3,900 moderate cases among the active cases.

The DOH also reported 92 more deaths, bringing the total number of Covid-19 fatalities in the country to 49,591.

“Only three deaths were reported in December 2021, out of a total of 92. Due to late input of death information to COVIDKaya, almost 18% of today’s reported deaths happened in November 2021 “According to the Department of Health.

It further stated that the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units are working to coordinate this problem to ensure that information is current.

Only 1.4 percent of the 24,360 people who were tested for Covid-19 were positive, according to DOH data from Dec. 5.

“As they are recoveries, about six duplicates were removed from the total case count. In addition, 159 instances tested negative and were excluded from the total case count because 157 of them were recoveries “It was said. “In addition, after final validation, 87 cases that had previously been categorized as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.”

On December 5, two laboratories were unavailable, and six laboratories were unable to transmit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on statistics from the previous 14 days, the eight laboratories provide 0.4 percent of samples analyzed and 3.6 percent of positive persons, according to the DOH.

Patients with Covid-19 have used 26 percent of 3,600 intensive care unit beds, 25 percent of 19,800 isolation beds, 13 percent of 12,900 ward beds, and 14 percent of 3,000 ventilators nationwide to date.

Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region, 29 percent of 1,300 intensive care unit beds, 21 percent of 4,700 isolation beds, 19 percent of 3,900 ward beds, and 16 percent of 1,100 ventilators are dedicated to patients with Covid-19.
