An official of the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 said Monday night that the arrival of 859,950 doses of US-made Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine bought by the national government is critical to the ongoing pediatric vaccination program.

Around 9:05 p.m., Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor, head of the NTF’s current operations sub-task force, welcomed Air Hongkong Flight LD456 delivering the newest Pfizer vaccine consignment to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City.

The Asian Development Bank provided funds to help procure the recently delivered consignment (ADB).

The Pfizer immunizations arrived on time, according to Mayor, as the government ramps up its continuing kid vaccination program efforts for safe face-to-face lessons by next year.

For the time being, just a few in-person seminars are being held in places that have been recognized as low risk for the coronavirus.

“Sa tuluy-tuloy na pagdating ng Pfizer ay madadagdagan yung ating mababakunahan na mga kabataan (We may vaccinate more children with the constant arrival of Pfizer vaccines),” he remarked.

The Food and Drug Administration of the United States has approved the use of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to inoculate youngsters and adolescents aged 12 to 17.

As more vaccinations arrive, Mayor asked the people to take part in the second wave of the enormous national immunization days “Bayanihan, Bakunahan,” which would take place from December 15 to 17, in order to accomplish the goal of fully protecting 54 million Filipinos by the end of the year.

“We encourage and appeal to individuals who have not yet been vaccinated to do so. Vaccines against Covid-19 are available in a variety of forms. We must get vaccinated because of the threat of Omicron variant “The mayor stated.

So far, 40,881,035 Filipinos have been fully protected against the coronavirus, with 756,682 people who were eligible for booster shots and additional doses receiving them.
