ISTANBUL, Turkey – The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations declared on Sunday that until Russia ends its “aggression” against Ukraine, they will continue to take action.

A video conference was held between the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, which was headed by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and included Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

They condemned “Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, aided by Belarus,” according to a statement issued following the meeting.

“The G7 has imposed enormous and coordinated sanctions, notably on Belarus, which is aiding Russia’s aggression,” the statement stated.

“Immediately stop the current onslaught,” they demanded of Russia.

“Russia will be held liable for any harm caused by its military aggression to Ukraine and its people, as well as internationals and their property,” the statement continued.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is now in its fifth day, with the newest reports claiming that Russian troops are on their way to Kyiv, the country’s capital.

The international world reacted angrily to the intervention, with the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States imposing a slew of economic sanctions against Russia.

Russia has been further isolated, with its aircraft barred from flying in European airspace and some of its banks barred from using the SWIFT international financial system.
