497 fresh recoveries and 4,084 new cases are recorded by PH.
On Monday, the Department of Health (DOH) announced 497 new recoveries and 4,084 new cases of coronavirus disease in 2019. (Covid-19).
Since the pandemic began in March 2020, 2,779,241 illnesses have been recovered, accounting for 97.3 percent of the total 2,855,819 infections.
There are now 24,992 active cases, with 19,552 mild cases, 3,051 intermediate cases, 795 asymptomatic cases, 331 critical cases, and 1,563 severe cases.
“Of the 4,084 instances recorded today (January 3), 4,057 (or 99 percent) happened in the last 14 days โ December 21 to January 3, 2022,” according to the DOH.
The National Capital Region (NCR), which had 2,831 new illnesses in the preceding two weeks, was followed by Calabarzon, which had 571 new infections, and Region 3 (Central Luzon), which had 273 new infections (7 percent).
The mortality toll has risen to 51,586 people, with 16 additional deaths accounting for 1.81 percent of all cases.
Due to late transmission of death information to COVIDKaya, 11 fatalities occurred in December 2021 (69 percent), three in October 2021 (19 percent), one in September 2021 (6 percent), and one in August 2021 (6 percent), according to the DOH.
COVIDKaya is a web-based tool that allows healthcare professionals to collect and share information regarding Covid-19 patients.
According to the data from January 1, around 20.7 percent of the 18,587 people who were tested for Covid-19 were positive.
“From the total case count, eighteen duplicates were deleted, 15 of which were recoveries. In addition, 178 instances tested negative and were removed from the total case count, with 177 being recoveries, according to the DOH.
Following validation, seven cases previously labeled as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.
On January 1 and 21, two laboratories were unable to submit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System because they were not operational.
Based on statistics from the previous 14 days, the 23 laboratories contribute 5.1 percent of samples analyzed and 5.2 percent of positive persons, according to the DOH.
Patients with Covid-19 have used 23 percent of 3,400 ICU beds, 23 percent of 18,600 isolation beds, 16 percent of 12,200 ward beds, and 13 percent of 2,000 ventilators nationwide to date.
In the meantime, the NCR is home to 29% of 1,200 ICU beds, 27% of 4,600 isolation beds, 30% of 3,800 ward beds, and 16% of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to Covid-19 patients.
