CDO is now offering vaccinations to non-residents at public terminals.
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY โ The local government here expressed interest in assisting non-residents who arrive at the city’s public terminals with Covid-19 vaccinations.
Mayor Oscar Moreno said in an online briefing Wednesday that the scheme would assist neighboring local government units (LGUs) in increasing vaccination rates.
“This means that we can assist other local government units in meeting the threshold of 70% for the general population and 80% for senior citizens,” Moreno explained.
Dr. Ted Yu Jr., a City Health Office (CHO) medical officer, also reminded the public that the Covid-19 vaccination rollout at bus terminals and other locations throughout the city is open to non-residents.
“Indeed, we have a ‘no wrong door policy’ at all of our vaccination sites. Even if you do not live in a city, you can get vaccinated “As Yu stated.
Along with drive-thru and house-to-house vaccination, vaccination at bus terminals was one of the city government’s new strategies for increasing vaccination coverage.
Yu stated that the data on non-city residents who received vaccinations here will be transmitted to the LGU from which they originated.
He added that this is also true for those who received vaccinations at the city’s mobile vaccination sites, which are located in neighboring Misamis Oriental towns.
Misamis Oriental, along with the provinces of Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Iligan, remains on Alert Level 2.
Meanwhile, the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has extended the city and province of Camiguin’s Alert Level 1 status until the end of March.
Since the beginning of March, this city has been classified as Level 1 due to an increase in vaccination output, the daily number of cases detected, and the rate of healthcare utilization.
Yu reported only two new cases as of March 15, bringing the cumulative total to 25,750.
As of March 15, Cagayan de Oro recorded 543,751 individuals who were fully vaccinated. This equates to 90.63 percent of the 599,929 total target population.
Twenty-nine percent of the fully vaccinated population, or 109,902 individuals, have received their booster shots, while 31,852 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine.
