Israel fires artillery shells into Lebanon.

JERUSALEM — In retaliation for rocket fire, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed on Sunday that they are firing artillery shells at a point inside Lebanon.

“IDF Artillery troops are presently targeting the source of the launch in Lebanon in retaliation to the projectile launched from Lebanon into northern Israel earlier tonight,” they claimed on Twitter.

A rocket fired from Lebanon landed in an open region near the village of Shlomi, inflicting no damage, according to the Israeli army.

It added that no rocket warning sirens had sounded in Israel, and that alert levels in the area were normal.

The missile was fired from Lebanon’s Tyre area, according to the Hezbollah-linked media site Al-Akhbar.
