Russia conducts another Tsirkon hypersonic missile test.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, the Russian warship Admiral Gorshkov successfully test-fired a Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile from the Barents Sea on Saturday.
It said that the missile hit a naval target around 1,000 kilometers away in the White Sea and that the projectile’s flight parameters were met.
The Tsirkon missile has been fired from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate and a nuclear-powered submarine on multiple occasions.
The Tsirkon missile, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, is capable of traveling at Mach 9, or nine times the speed of sound, and striking a target over 1,000 kilometers away.
