Pandemic recovery will be addressed in PBBM’s UNGA speech.

When he addresses the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 20, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is scheduled to announce the administration’s preparations for the Philippines’ recovery from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) epidemic.

According to press secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, this is because Marcos’ UNGA speech would emphasize the Philippine government’s initiatives, including international cooperation, to hasten the nation’s recovery from the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak.

“In this instance, the President’s top priority in this administration’s governanceโ€”indeed, his principal policyโ€”is economic recovery. Therefore, all operations, especially those relating to the presidency, are related to this particular vision, “Cruz-Angeles said at a press conference for the palace.

In light of this, she continued, “we are going to anticipate that his address will relate to how the Philippines will recover from this pandemic, where he intends to take this, and how he will do it in partnership with other states.”

According to Cruz-Angeles, Marcos will depart for the United States on September 18 to attend the UNGA.

The 77th UNGA session, which will be held in New York City, will give world leaders the chance to propose answers to the most important global challenges, such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

There are no more commitments.

The forthcoming journey Marcos will make to the US will be his third abroad trip this month and since taking office.

Cruz-Angeles responded “no plans” when asked if Marcos had an after-event meeting planned with other state governors.

Other than what has already been announced, there is no indication of a scheduled visit or meeting, according to Cruz-Angeles. When the time is right, we will make a formal statement when we arrive in New York.

Cruz-Angeles, however, suggested that Marcos might meet with New York City’s Filipino community members.

“The main objective will continue to be his attendance at the [UN] General Assembly. That is the major reason for traveling. Aside from what he typically does, which is to meet with the Filipino community when the occasion arises, there are no announcements or scheduled activities other than those that are congruent with or collateral to this address “She spoke.

Cruz-Angeles stated that Marcos would return to the nation on September 24.
