The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring rain to the Visayas and certain regions of Mindanao, according to the weather service on Monday.

Due to the LPA, which was last located 495 kilometers east southeast of Davao City, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms would predominate throughout the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), there is less likelihood that the LPA would intensify into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.

According to PAGASA, the northeast monsoon will also bring rain to the provinces of Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and Aurora as well as the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Bicol Region.

Rainfall that ranges from moderate to heavy may cause landslides or cause flooding in certain places.

The rest of Luzon will have brief rain showers brought on by localized thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will experience light rainfall brought on by the northeast monsoon.

Over Luzon, the eastern Visayas, and Mindanao, there will be moderate to severe winds and moderate to rough waves.

The northern and eastern coasts of Luzon, as well as the eastern coasts of the Visayas and Mindanao, are expected to see rough to very rough seas.

In addition to warning bigger sea vessels against high waves, PAGASA cautioned fishing boats and other small seacrafts not to enter the water.

According to PAGASA, winds will be light to moderately strong with modest to moderate seas elsewhere.
