The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded 331 new coronavirus illness recoveries on Sunday (Covid-19).

According to the PNP Health Service’s latest Covid-19 bulletin, 43,917 illnesses have recovered out of a total of 47,194 since the pandemic began over two years ago.

Another 204 new cases were added, bringing the total number of active cases to 3,151, down from 3,278 on Saturday.

The number of active cases has been steadily decreasing since January 17, when it peaked at 4,015 cases.

There have been no fresh fatalities, bringing the total death toll to 126.

The number of sick officers has climbed somewhat, according to PNP commander Gen. Dionardo Carlos, but the majority are asymptomatic.

They continue to perform their functions while in solitude, whether at home or in a facility, according to him.

On December 22, 2021, there were only 11 active infections; by January 15, there were 4,028.

According to the PNP, 217,386 (96.51 percent) of the 225,239 personnel have been fully vaccinated as of Sunday, while 6,819 (3.03 percent) are awaiting their second shot.

Only 1,034 PNP members (0.46 percent) have yet to be vaccinated.
