LEGAZPI CITY, PHILIPPINES – As Alert Level 1 takes effect on Tuesday, the city government of Naga has lifted restrictions for both indoor and outdoor activities.

Mayor Nelson Legacion signed Executive Order (EO) No. 2022-009, which said that new rules must be enacted due to the city’s coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) condition improving.

The EO stated, “Establishments and public transportation are permitted to operate at full capacity on-site and/or sitting capacity, subject to adherence to basic public health requirements, including the wearing of snugly fitted face masks.”

On presentation of vaccination cards and identity cards, fully vaccinated individuals aged 12 and older, as well as partially vaccinated individuals, are permitted to enter enclosed premises.

Children under the age of 11 who are not fully vaccinated but are accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian are also permitted to visit enclosed premises.

Those who are unable to receive the vaccine due to a medical condition as determined by a local or municipal health officer are permitted to do so but must produce their medical clearances.

The EO states that “persons involved in crises and those seeking medical attention are excluded from these rules.”

In the meanwhile, all persons, whether completely or partially vaccinated or unvaccinated, are permitted to participate in open-air setting activities. There is no requirement for verification of complete vaccination.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease has de-escalated Catanduanes and Naga City in the Bicol Region to Alert Level 1 till March 15.

Naga has 576 current cases out of 4,153 in the region, according to Department of Health data, while Catanduanes has 94.

As of February 28, Catanduanes has fully immunized 98 percent of its 23,456 elderly adults, for a total of 22,886.

The province of Albay, which is on Alert Level 2, has the highest active illnesses, with 1,076 cases.
