After Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk revealed his intention to charge USD $8 per month for verified users, the United Nations (UN) said on Friday that it had contacted the firm.

According to UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric, developments like the cost for blue check and the problem of content moderation “may affect how we interact on Twitter” and that we “may need to reassess our involvement.”

Long-time Twitter users have criticized Musk’s revelation over the blue check feature on the social networking site.
