The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) issued electronic land titles (e-titles) and certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to at least 99 farmers in the province of Batangas on Friday, making them legal proprietors.

After receiving her e-title, Editha Dastas, 66, of Barangay Patugo in Balayan town, committed to caring for the land and carrying out her obligations as a landowner.

According to attorney Kazel Celeste, DAR Undersecretary for Field Operations Office, the 98.7453 hectares allotted to the 99 beneficiaries included the land given to Dastas.

Twenty ARBs (agrarian reform beneficiaries) were given CLOAs for newly acquired 18.909 hectares in the cities of Tanuan and Lipa as well as the towns of Lobo and Balete.

Under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project, 77 ARBs got e-titles for a total of 80.8358 hectares in the municipalities of Calatagan, Lian, Tuy, Balayan, Lobo, Ibaan, Padre Garcia, and San Juan.

As part of the Village Level Farm Focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project, the department has also given the SAPAGLAYA Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) access to a facility for processing coco-based products. On the other hand, the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty provided a multi-cab to the Dapayan MPC (EPAHP).

Meanwhile, DAR and AgriNurture, Inc. started a digital marketing campaign to promote the ARBs and ARB organizations’ goods (ANI).

Under the projects for solar-powered irrigation systems, DAR will also put into practice a Sustainable Integrated Bio-Intensive Farming System with assistance from the National Irrigation Administration and the Department of Agriculture.
