Social care providers are urged by DSWD to develop a poverty database.
In order to provide social protection programs to the underprivileged segment of society, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has asked social service providers in the public and private sectors to work with them.
The Listahanan 3 poverty database now allows data to be shared with other national government agencies, local government units, and other organizations or stakeholders implementing social protection programs and services, according to a statement released on Wednesday by Jonathan Dirain, regional director of DSWD-3.
The third iteration of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), Listahanan 3, is an information system for locating and identifying disadvantaged families that may be used to target recipients of social safety programs.
“The Listahanan 3 will assist us in helping the underprivileged and disadvantaged segments of society. To reach the poorest of the poor, I implore everyone to use Listahanan 3,” stated Dirain.
Following Listahanan’s third round of evaluation, which included 1,512,928 homes in the area, 270,456 households in Central Luzon were determined to be poor.
Out of the total, 146,016 poor people live in rural areas compared to 124,440 poor people who live in the targeted poor families.
The number of impoverished homes among the indigenous people (IPs) group is 16,137, or 5.97 percent. The province of Zambales has the most concentration of IP addresses.
“In order to improve their well-being, we implore our partners to give those disadvantaged homes and individuals top priority when offering social safety programs. We can have a good impact on the lives of our less fortunate Filipinos through our combined efforts, including those of our partner LGUs and NGOs, Dirain remarked.
The first Listahanan 3 data customer in the area was the Cabanatuan City government.
The Listahanan is helpful in identifying clients for various social welfare programs and services, according to Helen Bagasao, director of the Cabanatuan City Social Welfare and Development Office.
The Listahanan is a tremendous help to the LGU in identifying the people who are truly impoverished and who need our assistance, according to Bagasao. “Ang Listahanan ay malaking tulong sa LGU upang ma-identify ang totoong mahihirap na kinakailangan nating tulungan,” he said.
