Floods and torrential rains across PH caused P1.2-B in Agri and infrastructure damage.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) announced on Wednesday that the damage to agriculture and infrastructure from the northeast monsoon, shear line, and low-pressure system that struck different regions of the country since early January totaled PHP1.26 billion.

According to the OCD’s most recent bulletin, agricultural damage in the Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and Caraga has reached PHP833.07 million.

While this is going on, infrastructure damage in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has reached PHP430.48 million.

1,780 dwellings were damaged in all, 1,232 of which were deemed “mostly damaged,” while 548 were deemed “completely ruined.”

39 deaths were reported, of which 19 were confirmed and 20 were still being investigated.

There are still 12 injured people and 7 people missing, respectively.

1,941,146 people, or 475,983 families, have been impacted by the consequences of poor weather.
