On Tuesday, the final day of the voter registration period, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is prepared to extend office hours.

George Erwin Garcia, chair of the Comelec, stated on Monday that registration sites will continue to accept applicants until all of the people in line had been assisted.

In a statement, he remarked, “They should prolong as long as there are people, there are others remaining in line.”

All Election Assistants (EAs) are instructed to list the names of individuals waiting in line to submit their applications for registration who are within a 30-meter radius of the voter registration sites at 3 p.m. of the final day of the registration period, in accordance with Comelec Resolution No. 10868 or the rules on the voter registration for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

Each name must be read aloud three times in the order that it was listed before the applicants are called.

Any applicant who is not present when his or her name is called is no longer eligible to submit a registration, transfer, or reactivation application.

However, if the applicant is present when his or her name is called, the application will be processed and the biometric information will be recorded.

“The same will be done repeatedly until every person on the list has been dealt with. Whether the Election Officer has issued queue numbers or any other comparable systems, this method must be followed “the resolution declared.

On December 12, 2022, voter registration activities were resumed.

The polling organization announced that the BSKE voter registration period will no longer be prolonged.
