643K tourists arrive in Bolinao town in 2022.

According to information released on Wednesday by the Municipal Tourism Office, the number of visitors arriving in Bolinao more than quadrupled from 301,589 in 2021 to 643,785 in 2022.

According to Mary de Guzman, the municipal tourism officer, of the 2022 figure, 181,934 guests stayed in their accredited lodging establishments, while 461,851 took day trips to the area’s many tourist sites.

She stated that out of the total number of tourists who arrived in 2022, 2,923 were foreigners and 640,862 were domestic visitors.

She said that April and May saw the highest numbers of visitors, with 109,413 and 94,959, respectively.

According to De Guzman, the town’s waterfalls (Bolinao Falls 1, 2, and 3) saw 141,846 tourists in 2022, followed by the Balingasay River with 99,971.

In the Ilocos Region, the Balingasay River is renowned for being the cleanest river and for having a floating restaurant that serves seafood.

The lighthouse, Patar White Sand Beach, Caves, Camp Puor, Hidden Spring, Dragon Hill, Virgin River Resort, and River Village Resort were among the additional attractions, she continued.

The Pacific Salt Farm, run by the provincial government of Pangasinan, is the most recent addition to the town’s numerous tourist attractions.

Vice Mayor of Bolinao Town Richard Celeste stated that the town also hosted the 25 Mr. Tourism World contenders in a phone interview on Tuesday.

They’ve been to the Pacific Salt Farms, the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, and the Balingasay River river tour, he said.

The candidates sampled fresh seafood delicacies while boating the Balingasay River, and they saw how salt is traditionally made at the Pacific Salt Farms and Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, a local landmark.

According to Celeste, they are now getting ready for the next Mangunguna Festival and Ballayon Arts Festival.

Workshops, displays, and contests will be part of the Ballayon Arts Festival. The Mangunguna festival, which includes a street dancing competition, is the main event; it’s comparable to our local fiesta, he said.

While the Mangunguna Festival takes place from April 19 to 21, the Ballayon Arts Festival takes place in February.

Bolinao is renowned for its spotless white sand beach, crystal-clear river, historic sites, and top-notch resorts.
