The first actual “Walk for Life” since the beginning of Covid is scheduled on February 18.
After a two-year break caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) epidemic, the faithful are anticipated to attend the first actual “Walk for Life” in Manila.
The action is scheduled for February 18 from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., according to Raymond Daniel Cruz, Jr., president of the event’s organizer Council of the Laity of the Philippines (CLP).
The University of Santo Tomas (UST) grandstand will be the destination of the walk, which will begin at the Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City and end there with a program and Mass.
In an essay published on the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) news website on Friday, he claimed, “Our spirit of defending life has never wavered even during the pandemic.”
Cruz continued, “We even have a deeper understanding of the sanctity of life and constantly pray and try very hard to protect and keep it safe.
Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, or CLP, is also asking church groups and laypeople to participate in the event and “celebrate life.”
“The various concerns in life are vital in our contemporary culture, and we need to continually emphasize to everyone our unwavering stance on the significance and holiness of life,” he stated.
Due to pandemic constraints, the event was virtually staged in 2021 and 2022 after it was initially held in 2017 for the first time.
