Over 8.7M are registered by PhilSys in Central Luzon in 2022

In 2022, 8,719,775 Central Luzon inhabitants would have enrolled with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

According to a study released on Monday by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services 3 (PSA-RSSO3), this amounts to 70.2% of the region’s target registrants.

According to the report, the most recent statistic is 29.8% lower than the region’s planned population of 12.4 million.

With a total of 2,506,260 registrations, Bulacan has the most among the seven provinces in the area, followed by Pampanga (1,988,438) and Nueva Ecija (1,634,873).

Zambales led the list in terms of completed percentage based on the estimated target registrants, registering 79.27 percent of them. Aurora came in second with 72.94 percent and Tarlac came in third with 72.22 percent.

The province of Bataan, on the other hand, reached 71.62 percent of its goal.

The PSA-regional RSSO3’s director, Arlene Divino, is optimistic that the remainder of the target population will register this year.

Divino urged the locals to sign up with PhilSys, pointing out that doing so would facilitate the government’s effective provision of services.

She issued a statement in which she said, “We encourage everyone to register as holding the national ID will serve as an official proof of identity for public and private transactions.”

As of January 31, 1,771,572 ePhilID (electronic Philippine Identification) cards had been distributed throughout Central Luzon.

The PhilID will be acknowledged and recognized for government and private transactions under Republic Act 11055, also known as the PhilSys Act, and will be regarded as an official and sufficient acceptable evidence of identity for all Filipino citizens and resident foreigners.
