Pangandaman promises to put in more effort following a higher trust rating.
Amenah Pangandaman, secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), on Sunday thanked the public for their support after a recent poll ranked her as the fourth most trusted Cabinet official during the term of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Pangandaman received a trust rating of 70% in the national “Boses ng Bayan” survey, which was released on March 23 by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc.
From the previous 67 percent trust rating she received in December of last year, this number represents a 3-percent gain.
The evaluation of Pangandaman’s work performance is still 73 percent.
Pangandaman stated in a press release that she is “heart-filled” by the Filipinos’ confidence in her.
“Mahal ka naman po. There aren’t any other layunins at this time given that the Filipino people’s homes are being built and unveiled, so thank you very much. The improvement of Filipinos’ lives is our only objective, according to Pangandaman.
This will motivate me to work even harder to make sure we are moving forward with our Agenda for Prosperity so that no Filipino is left behind in our country’s economic transformation.
Pangandaman is the sole Muslim in the Marcos Cabinet and the second woman to lead the DBM.
She worked as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Assistant Governor before being named to the DBM. During the previous president Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, she also served as the budget undersecretary.
Benhur Abalos Jr., secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government, came out on top among Cabinet members with an 85 percent performance rating and a 90 percent trust rating.
The popularity of Abalos increased by 7% from December 2022.
This approval rate makes me feel incredibly humble. In order to give our kababayans a progressive, resilient, and effective community they can rely on, I will continue to be committed to stepping up our efforts to reduce crime, launching reforms, and formulating policies to support our local government units, Abalos said in a statement on Saturday.
Following him were the secretaries for tourism, information and communications technology, executive secretaries, and foreign affairs, in that order: Pangandaman (73 percent approval, 70 percent trust rating), Christina Garcia-Frasco (77 percent approval, 75 percent trust rating), Lucas Bersamin (75 percent approval, 70 percent trust rating), Ivan John Uy (75 percent approval, 88 percent trust rating), and Enrique Manalo (75 percent approval, 70 percent trust rating). (71 percent approval, 67 percent trust ratings).
