In Malabon, Marcos hands over 1,380 housing units.
At the St. Gregory Homes Project in Barangay Panghulo, Malabon City, beneficiaries received 1,380 home units from the National home Authority (NHA) on Monday, with the assistance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
He personally presented Certificates of Eligibility of Lot Allocation (CELA) to informal settler families (ISFs) residing near waterways and danger zones in Malabon City as well as those impacted by the building of DPWH pumping stations.
In his speech, Marcos reaffirmed his pledge to alleviate the housing shortage in the nation during his six-year term.
“Napakalapit po sa aking puso ang pagsisiguro na maging matagumpay ang mga human settlements at housing projects nga ating gobyerno,” the speaker said. Assuring the success of our government’s housing and human settlements projects is a cause important to my heart. Isa po sa binibigyan nating ng prayoridad at mabigyan ng solusyon ang napakatinding kakulangan ng pabahay dito sa Pilipino. The chronic housing shortage in the Philippines is one of the issues we prioritise and address, he added.
“That is why I challenged myself and my fellow employees in the DHSUD, NHA, and our LGUs to meet the housing needs within my term,” he continued. “Kaya naman po hinamon ko ang aking sarili at aking mga kapwa lingkod sa DHSUD, sa NHA lalong-lalo na ang ating mga LGU (local government unit).
He asked the NHA, DHSUD, and other relevant organizations to keep working to guarantee that every Filipino has a place to call home.
“Aking inaatasan muli ang NHA, DHSUD, at iba pang kaugnay na ahensya ng pamahalaan na magpatuloy sa masusing pagbibigay lunas sa ating suliranin sa pabahay at tiyakin na walang sinumang na maaiiwanan at mapapa
Marcos also urged recipients to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at assisting and raising the standard of living for all Filipinos.
I hope this serves as a reminder and proof that this project is prepared to lead and assist you in the growth of your way of life, he continued. “Sana po magsilbi itong na paalala at patunay na ang proyektong ito ay handang gumabay at tumulong sa inyo tungo sa pagunlad ng inyong pamumuhay,”
A partnership between the NHA and the Malabon City administration resulted in the construction of the 23 five-story low-rise structures that make up the St. Gregory Homes Project, a resettlement site with 1,380 residential units.
Schools, businesses, institutions, transportation hubs, markets, shopping centers, and hospitals are all close to the relocation site.
Around 400 families have already shifted in, and as of February 27, 720 flats are available for occupancy.
The housing project demonstrates NHA’s dedication to the “Build Better and More (BBM)” housing program, which seeks to build a sustainable neighborhood that offers chances for livelihood to qualifying beneficiaries.
The 6 million housing units under the “Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program” are to be delivered by the BBM Housing Program to ISFs.
Punishment Village
Prior to handing over housing units in Malabon, Marcos oversaw the ceremonial launching of the fourth Disiplina Village, the “Disiplina Village Arkong Bato,” in Barangay Arkong Bato, Valenzuela City.
He expressed gratitude to the Valenzuela City government for taking the effort to build ISFs some cheap housing.
“Ang Valenzuela is a napakagandang halimbawa in our pagsisikap of makamit for our aforementioned hanging mabigyan of maayos na pabahay for our aforementioned mamamayan. (Valenzuela is a very good example of our efforts to realise our goal of providing our people with adequate housing.) kaya naman hinihimok ko kayong lahat na ipagpatuloy ang pagtatayo ng dekalidad at abot kayang pabahay upang kayo ay aptuloy na maging sandigan ng bawat Pilipino. Because of this, I implore you all to keep constructing high-quality, reasonably-priced housing in order to continue supporting every Filipino, he said.
The Disiplina Villages are full communities that give people access to schools, health clinics, and other governmental services. They were initiated by the NHA, DHSUD, and Valenzuela City administrations.
On a 2.07-hectare plot of land, the fourth Disiplina Village will be built. 1,200 ISFs will reside in a total of 20 five-story structures along the Tullahan River and Manila Bay.
In Valenzuela City’s Barangays Ugong, Bignay, and Lingunan, the first three Disiplina Villages were constructed.
For ISFs impacted by Typhoon Ondoy, the Disiplina Villages in Ugong and Bignay were constructed on a 12.9-hectare site in 2009. They were the first two in-city relocation sites and public rental housing projects for ISFs in the nation.
The housing project likewise adheres to the 4PH Program of the Marcos administration.
