The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is holding its annual job fairs in conjunction with May 1st, which is recognized as Labor Day across the country, with close to 60,000 positions being offered.

The event for job seekers will take place at several malls in seven locations in Metro Manila, according to the DOLE.

These include the QC Quadrangle in Quezon City, SM Grand Central in Caloocan City, SM BF and SM City Sucat in Paranaque City, SM Southmall and Robinsons Place in Las Pias, Vista Mall in Taguig City, SM City in Marikina City, San Andres Gym in the City of Manila, and SM Southmall in Southmall.

The first job fairs, organized by the DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR), will take place on April 30 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Additionally, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Ilocos Region, the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center, in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; Pangasinan, the PESO Multipurpose Hall in Lingayen; Orbos Gym, in Sta. Barbara; and Magic Mall, in Urdaneta City will all host their own job fairs.

In the Cagayan Valley, job fairs will also be organized, mainly at SM City Tuguegarao, Robinsons Place in Santiago, and Municipal Covered Court in Reina Mercedes, Isabela.

The employment fairs will take place in Central Luzon at SM City Marilao in Bulacan, SM City Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, SM City Pampanga in San Fernando City, Pampanga, SM City Olongapo Central in Olongapo City, and SM City San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.

Additionally, job fairs will be held in Calabarzon at the Rizal Provincial Capitol Grounds and the Ynares Center.

The Mimaropa event will take place on May 1 at the City Mall in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

The employment fair will be held in Legazpi, Albay’s Ayala Mall, in the Bicol region.

The venue for the job fair for Western Visayas would be Robinsons Iloilo.

Job fairs for the Central Visayas will be held in Robinsons Galleria Cebu, the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, and Tacloban Convention Center in Tacloban City.

The Zamboanga Peninsula employment fair will be held at KCC Mall de Zamboanga, while Northern Mindanao will be held at SM Downtown Premier in Cagayan de Oro City.

The event will be held in SM City Davao for the Davao Region, Kidapawan City Gymnasium in Cotabato City for Soccskargen, and the Almont Inland Hotel in Butuan City for the Caraga job fair.

Contrarily, the DOLE encouraged job applicants to carry copies of the fundamental pre-employment needs, such as a résumé or curriculum vitae (in multiple copies), a diploma, a transcript of records, and a photocopy of their training certificates.

To help job seekers fulfill their pre-employment requirements, the DOLE will establish a one-stop service of various government agencies, including the Philippine Statistics Authority, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System, Home Development Mutual Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Postal Corporation.
