Job seekers in Central Luzon can apply for over 32,000 openings at job fairs on May 1, according to the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in this area.

Five job fairs will be held concurrently in five locations—SM mall branches in Pampanga; the cities of San Jose Del Monte and Marilao in Bulacan; Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; and the province of Olongapo—in honor of the 121st Labor Day.

On May 3 and May 4, the People’s Center in Balanga City, Bataan, and the Bulacan Capitol gym in Malolos City, respectively, will host two additional employment fairs.

Geraldine Panlilio, the regional director of the DOLE, recommended job searchers to pre-register on philjobnet.gov.ph to avoid being snared in the crowds attending the fairs.

Inquiring candidates can also go to the company’s official Facebook page, according to Panlilio.

Around 8,000 jobs are currently open from 48 participating companies in Pampanga and around 7,600 from 70 participating employers in Zambales as of Friday.

Approximately 8,200 jobs are available in Bulacan from 97 companies that will attend three job fairs.

Around 7,500 job openings are available in Bataan from 30 participating employers, while around 1,300 positions are available in Nueva Ecija from 20 participating businesses.

In addition to job fairs, Labor Day celebrations will feature “Kadiwa ng Pangulo sa mga Manggagawa” events at Clark Freeport in Pampanga and the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles.

According to Panlilio, the same dates and locations will also be used to distribute other DOLE support and grant livelihood packages.

She urged job seekers to attend the events and prepare for possible on-the-spot hiring.

Panlilio advised in a radio interview, “Ihanda lang po nila ang kanilang mga documents for potentially being recruited on the spot (Be ready with their documents for possibly being hired on the spot). (
