Beginning on May 2, the Lagusnilad underpass will be partially closed for four months.
The City of Manila announced that the Lagusnilad vehicular underpass repair would begin on Tuesday, May 2.
The underpass will be partially closed when undergoing rehabilitation, which is anticipated to take four months.
“Motorists are advised that the Lagusnilad Vehicular Underpass will have a partial road closure starting May 2, 2023,” said attorney Princess Abante, a spokesperson for Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan.
She continued, “This is to ensure the underpass’s safe and effective rehabilitation for at least 4 months or until September 2023.”
The Manila municipal government also encouraged drivers heading to Taft Avenue to use other routes because traffic is anticipated when the construction begins.
On Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., Lacuna-Pangan will preside over the rehabilitation project’s groundbreaking ceremony.
The Manila City Hall is in front of the vehicular underpass.
