The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and a low-pressure area (LPA) will cause rain showers to affect Mindanao and a significant portion of the Visayas, according to the weather service on Tuesday.

The last sighting of the LPA embedded along the ITCZ was 490 kilometers east of Davao City.

According to Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), there is a minimal possibility that it may intensify into a tropical cyclone.

Over Mindanao, the Eastern and Central Visayas, the LPA and the ITCZ will produce sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms. According to PAGASA, these areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

According to Castaneda, the easterlies would continue to bring generally good weather to the rest of the nation.

Localized thunderstorms that produce sporadic rain showers are also possible.

The entire archipelago will experience light to moderate winds and mild to moderate seas, according to PAGASA.
