As of May 1, there were 201 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the Caraga Region, according to the DOH-13 of the Caraga Region.

The DOH-13 stated in a statement that the latest number is 71 more instances than the previous total of 130 cases on April 24.

The newly-recorded active cases, according to DOH-13, increased the overall number of cases in the area since the Covid-19 pandemic was announced throughout the nation in March 2020 to 63,651.

Last week, one additional disease-related death was reported in the region, bringing the total to 2,389 since the pandemic’s declaration in early 2020.

From April 24 to May 1, 44 patients recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries in the area to 61,061.

The DOH-13 report stated that “no critical or severe admissions due to Covid-19 were recorded in the region last week,” adding that 89 patients who tested positive for the virus were hospitalized to the area’s various designated medical facilities.

Only 88 of the 402 non-Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and one of the 67 ICU beds at medical facilities in the area were used last week, according to the DOH-13 report.
