The Department of Tourism (DOT) is continuing to exempt tourism businesses from paying accreditation costs.…

The DOT plans to certify more tourism businesses in Central Luzon.
To guarantee that visitors receive high-quality services, the Department of Tourism-Central Luzon (DOT-3) plans to certify more tourism businesses in the area.
In a statement on Monday, Richard G. Daenos, the regional director of DOT-3, emphasized the significance of accreditation for businesses in order to ensure that the primary tourism establishments (PTEs) themselves and the government-enforced protocols for their protection are put into practice.
According to Daenos, the DOT accreditation is a certificate that the department issues to enterprises to formally acknowledge that they have met the requirements for the operation of tourism facilities and services.
The DOT-3 granted accreditation to 893 different tourism businesses in the area in 2022.
The tourist sector is recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic-related recession, according to Daenos, who also stated that the DOT-3 hopes to expand the number of accredited businesses by at least 20% this year.
Accommodation providers, travel and tour operators, online travel agencies, MICE or meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions venues and organizers, tour operators, and tourist transport providers (air, land, and water) are all considered PTEs.
Restaurants, spas, ambulatory clinics, tertiary hospitals, and museums are examples of secondary tourist businesses that are encouraged to seek DOT accreditation.
As part of the DOT-3’s strategy to extend the agency’s regulatory services to remote locations, a DOT accreditation caravan was organized on April 26 in Dingalan, Aurora.
Daenos reported that the DOT team completed 39 applications during the caravan and examined them physically and evaluated their supporting documentation.
To guarantee the caliber of the facilities and services, he advised the public to only do business with establishments that have received DOT accreditation.
A DOT representative advised the general public to constantly check for the quality seal from lodging establishments and service providers.
