Investments are driven by Filipino talent and work ethic: PBBM
According to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., his conversations with American business leaders “affirm the optimism” with which foreign investors currently see the Philippines.
During his post-visit briefing, which was conducted on Thursday (US time) at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington DC, Marcos gave this assessment of his five-day “productive” tour to the US.
He claimed that the talent and work ethic of Filipinos is what draws in these international investments.
Marcos told the press, “It was with great joy that I received their compliments for the creativity, inventiveness, and work ethic of Filipinos, which has become the main driving force for bringing their investments to our nation.
He made the point that Washington, D.C., and Manila would need to “forge closer economic ties and ensure that our bilateral partnership works for our peoples.”
That will genuinely usher our collaboration, alliance, and friendship into the twenty-first century, he remarked.
In order to advance climate-smart agriculture projects, he also said that he would head a “ministerial-level study group” between the US and the Philippines.
“We agreed to institutionalize a ministerial-level study group to advance cooperation on climate-smart agriculture, which I myself will lead, in addition to existing bilateral policy dialogue platforms and working groups,” Marcos stated.
The president spoke at the Center for Strategic and International Studies to conclude his trip, sharing his thoughts on why he believes the US and the Philippines “have been and will continue to be naturally drawn to each other.”
