High-ranking Swedish government officials visit the Philippines for two days to look into prospective partnerships and investments, highlighting the country’s strong growth.

Sweden’s Foreign Trade Minister Johan Forssell, who has been in the nation on a two-day high-level mission since May 18, emphasized the significance of Sweden’s bilateral relations with the Philippines and the ASEAN area at a briefing on Friday.

“Many Swedish businesses have a significant and expanding interest in investing here. He added that This is due to the significant population rise and the country’s robust economic growth.

Forssell claimed to have met with the secretaries of trade and industry, energy, finance, foreign affairs, and national defense to explore upcoming collaboration between the Philippines and Sweden.

He claimed that his discussion with Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual was improving business-to-business ties to encourage trade and investment in various industries.

The energy secretary and foreign trade minister spoke about Swedish businesses’ interest in energy transmission, an area in which Sweden is a global leader, as well as in the production of renewable energy (RE) from solar and wind.

Contrarily, the topic of his discussions with Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno was the opportunities in infrastructure projects in line with the Marcos administration’s “Build Better More” policy.

He will meet with Enrique Manalo, the secretary of foreign affairs, and Carlito Galvez Jr., the secretary of defense, to discuss how the two nations may further their cooperation.
