The company’s strong advancement toward the first set of mid-term Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets is highlighted in Manila Water’s 2022 Integrated Report.

The study highlighted the accomplishments in three important aspects: capital expenditures, carbon avoidance and reduction, and water security.

“Our significant push toward our ESG and sustainability thrusts was highlighted by 2022. Manila Water president and chief executive officer Jocot De Dios said on Monday that the company has set forth several objectives and pledges that guide its environmental and community stewardship approach.

“The progress made against these commitments is a testament to the work of every single Manila Water employee who has made it their commitment to improving our customers’ lives for the next 25 years and beyond,” he stated.

As of year-end 2022, Manila Water allegedly achieved a sizable water security buffer.

According to Manila Water, this achievement puts the water company in a good position to continue providing reliable water delivery even in the face of potential obstacles like the impending El Nio.

The water company’s efforts to ensure a sufficient water supply demonstrate its dedication to serving customer needs and assuring dependable access to water resources.

The water company went above and beyond its business-as-usual benchmark by reducing and avoiding its Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 36%.
