Unveils Covid-19 bivalent vaccinations in Iloilo City.
Most of the Covid-19 bivalent vaccines that arrived here last week were given out by the city administration to hospitals, with some also going to the front-line staff at clinics for dialysis and health centers.
In a Monday media interview, Mayor of Iloilo City Jerry P. Treas remarked, “Once we have more, we will open it to everyone.”
According to Treas, the immunizations were a gift from the Lithuanian government.
According to Annabelle Tang, the Iloilo City Health Officer, the city has received 268 vials of the bivalent vaccines from the Department of Health, 100 of which were handed to local hospitals.
In a second interview, she stated, “The remaining 168 vials are being rolled out to our health personnel in the district and to senior citizens in the community.” According to her, one vial is comparable to six doses.
According to Tang, the interim guidelines on managing and administering the Covid-19 Vaccine Pfizer Bivalent are based on the DOH Department Memorandum number 2023-0178.
Healthcare professionals and senior individuals will receive Phase I of the rollout as a third booster dose at least four to six months following their second booster dose.
The mayor added that the city government would no longer purchase immunizations due to the “very, very nil” takers.
