🚰 The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) announced on Thursday that the projected rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon could replenish the supply of Angat Dam.

⛈️📈 Patrick Dizon, a division manager at MWSS’ site operations management, mentioned that at least four storms this month are anticipated to fill the reservoir and slow the water level’s decrease.

🌧️ According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), as of 6 a.m. Thursday, the water level in Angat Dam was below the minimum operating level of 180 meters.

💧 Dizon explained that the continuous rainfall in the watershed has temporarily slowed the decline of the water elevation in the Angat reservoir. The expected storms and the southwest monsoon are expected to enhance rainfall in the watershed.

💪 The months leading up to September have historically been when the reservoir is replenished and the water level increases.

💼 MWSS and water concessionaires assured that they would maximize the anticipated rains to mitigate the impact of water interruptions.

🌧️ Dizon emphasized their commitment to utilizing rainfall in the watershed to reduce the number of hours of water service interruptions.

🚿 Customers of Maynilad, a water utility provider, in certain areas have been experiencing up to nine hours of daily water service interruption due to the decreased water level at Angat Dam.
