The Supreme Court has prolonged the work stoppage in its offices until January 8 to allow for personnel testing.

The high court stated in Memorandum Order 3-2022 issued on Wednesday that this is to pave the way for widespread antigen testing and contact tracing.

According to the SC’s current Medical and Dental Services report, antigen testing on all court workers, as well as employees of its service suppliers, has not yet been completed, and those who have been tested have a high positivity rate.

The court stated that personnel from the Office of the Bar Chair and Office of the Bar Confidant involved in the 2020/2021 Bar examination, as well as personnel from the Judicial Records Office involved in e-filing, must still report on-site.

Except for important workers and those participating in the immunization booster program on Monday and the en banc hearing on Tuesday, the court had previously ordered a three-day work halt from Monday to Wednesday.

After the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal were also placed under Alert Level 3, the Office of the Court Administrator issued a new work arrangement in a separate memorandum.

From January 5 to 15, courts and judicial offices in these provinces must operate with a skeleton staff of at least 30% and up to 50%.

Meanwhile, regular office hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Saturday duty suspended.
