The Department of Labor and Employment in Western Visayas (DOLE-6) stated on Monday that another batch of workers displaced by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak will be eligible for cash assistance.

Starting in January 2022, the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP 3) gives one-time financial support of PHP5,000 to affected workers and persons in the private sector where Alert Level 3 has been declared.

“DOLE-6 accepts applications (from) workers whose employment has been harmed as a result of temporary or permanent closure of employers’ establishments or the adoption of retrenchment as mitigating measures,” the agency said in a Facebook advisory.

To be eligible, the impacted private establishment must have applied for displaced or temporarily laid-off workers through the DOLE Establishment Reporting System, and the affected individuals must be formal sector workers or employees.

Online applications with documentary requirements can be submitted at https://reports.dole.gov.ph.

The DOLE-6 stated on July 1, 2020, that it has distributed PHP127 million in monetary assistance to 25,400 affected workers in Western Visayas under the CAMP 1.

In November of that year, the CAMP 2 program allocated an additional PHP157 million for displaced employees in the region.

Through the Joint Memorandum Circular 2020-001 of the DOLE and the Department of Tourism, 16,149 tourism industry beneficiaries in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City received PHP80.745 million in financial aid under the CAMP in May of last year.
